BPO Outsourcing Work In The Philippines: The Real Deal26 Jan

The following was written by our TryBPO.com employee, Sherryl Pestano, or Sheng for short. Sheng is a valued member of the team and is often joking and laughing with her co-workers, helping to create a relaxed and fun environment in the office. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication, Sheng!

Let’s be honest: in the Philippines it is really difficult to find a job. Of course, with the economic crisis happening not just in the Philippines but also around the world, you might definitely stop to think, “What job should I take to give me a stable future?” or “What are the top paying jobs in the Philippines?”

The current high demand jobs in the Philippines are in the service industry. Due to the fact that Filipinos are trained and educated in the technicalities of the English language, call center jobs are also in demand. Companies, including those who are listed among Fortune 500, are outsourcing their businesses in the Philippines because of the relatively low labor costs and unique culture that makes up our country.

In the race to becoming the number one BPO country in the world, the Philippines is second while India remains first. Unknown to many but little by little, the former is beginning to catch up to the latter. Pretty soon the Philippines will be the biggest outsourcing country in the world. Hence, more and more call centers are popping out within the urban areas of the country and are hiring. It may give you long hours and night shifts, but the training and benefits are definitely worth all pain and effort.

As the world’s most preferred business process outsourcing (BPO) destination, the Philippines is the home to various trustworthy call centers and professional online marketing assistants. The Philippines are growing and developing BPO companies continue to grow amidst the economic crisis. The prevailing existence and increasing numbers of BPO companies helps decrease the unemployment rate in third world countries like the Philippines and India.

If you have good communication skills, and a cheerful and optimistic disposition, be part of a dynamic team at an outsourcing company like TryBPO.com!

    Hi Sheng,

    That was a great post!

I was wondering, with the outsourcing boom in the Philippines, are there any management positions available for Indian Outsourcing managers?

I currently am an Area Sales Manager (185 Sales Associates and 10 Sales managers reporting to me) with Dell in Bangalore. I’ve moved up the chain from a Sales Associate.

I wanted to make a move abroad and was looking at the Philippines as a great destination.

    Have any advice for me?

    Thanks!

    RJ

I can answer this for Sheng. Persons with outsourcing experience are highly valued in the Philippines. With that sort of team underneath you and experience leading them, you can expect many companies to be interested. I would suggest a short trip to Manila for a few interviews. Email me at joe@trybpo.com with your resume and I will set something up for you. I have a great contact in mind — an Indian run outsourcing company in Manila focused on outbound campaigns.

    Thanks for commenting!
