to jothi and ral.. indeed speaking english is not a talent however. the article is just stating the facts and the advantages why most foreign companies choose Philippines as an outsource country for business. ofcourse philippines can lobby with western countries with regard to call center talents and education.just like india.. Young Filipino professionals like me, either, do not prefer call center jobs. BPO or callcenter is the last resort when choosing job opportunites. we prefer corporate work or banking, and tourism and computer related jobs.and ofcourse jobs in line with our chosen professions. penetrating the BPO or call center industry in the philippines for yuppies is just as easy as eating peanuts..however a lot of filipino yuppies have succeeded and gained careers with in the BPO industry and highly well paid.and step up to the corporate ladder. and To RAL:--> (Hmmmmmm a country like Philippines who produce graduates around 20-30 lakhs would compete with India who produce more than a crore of graduates and moreover philipines can never lobby with countries like USA,UK so the undisputed champion will be India only)-- compare statisctics RAL: Tertiary enrollment:	10.5%- INDIA and 31.2%- Philippines, to take note that india has a bigger population than the philippines. and the phils produces more core grads than india. Literacy rate: 59.5%- INdia and 95.6%- Philippines. so where did you get your figures RAL?

Most Indian students don't prefer BPO including me. BPO is our last option when it comes to job. Every one is looking and trying hard for the technological jobs.

Could not believe the below sentence. Speaking English is not a talent.
-- The lack of skilled workers in India has caused prices to increase in recent years --

The Philippine outsourcing industry offers a wide range of services to companies that include not only traditional voice and IT services but also higher value services such as finance, animation, engineering, medical transcription and architectural services. BPO industry in the Philippines has grown 46% annually since 2006. This boom is led by demand for offshore call centers. Overall, Philippine BPO is forecast to earn between US $11 to 13 billion and employing 900,000 additional people in 2010. To achieve and sustain this rapid growth, the Philippine government is offering significant fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to attract foreign direct investment in these industries as part of the 2007 Investment Priorities Plan.
