Outsourcing During the Crisis29 May

iStock_000008383881XSmallAmidst the global crisis in USA and around the world, businesses are cutting down costs and some are even closing shop. While most other industries are suffering from the crunch, the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry is experiencing a slow but steady growth, especially in countries such as the Philippines.

According to Rarima, outsourcing can be a cure to ailing business in this time of economic uncertainty. Companies in the USA, specifically, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are looking to outsourcing hot spots to provide them with cheaper labor, office, and maintenance costs. SMEs cut down on internal costs by outsourcing services and skills from other firms and companies which offer quality but affordable services.

One such service are call centers, which have been drastically increasing in the Philippines. The cost of hiring or commissioning call centers in the Philippines are relatively cheaper than those in the USA. Moreover, Filipino call center agents are well-trained and well-versed in the English language with a good grasp of the American accent.

Other quality services which can be outsourced at low costs are medical transcription, web development, and even legal services. It is also already commonplace to hire virtual assistants who work online in virtual workspaces as doing so would cost much less. Make sure you check their mission statement before hiring them.

In this times of financial crisis, outsourcing is definitely a good way to keep operations intact while cutting down costs.

The problem with China is the non English speaking workforce. Even for administrative work with no phone communication, a native English speaker is going to be easier to get things done.
