Developments of KPOs in Philippines would surely promote healthy competition between Philippines and India. I also agree to Joseph Magnotti’s point that smaller companies should also try to venture into KPO industry. However I feel that quality is prime factor to be considered, when it comes to producing specialized work as per client requirements, with the help of skilled professionals. Even a small number of employees can produce high quality work as compared to large number of average employees. At my company ( http://www.sddglobal.com ), the off-shore legal outsourcing (LPO or legal KPO - knowledge process outsourcing) services we provide compare favorably with much of what attorneys produce at high-quality law firms in the West. When corporations and law firms outsource legal services to our company, the work is done by top law graduates, experienced lawyers, and/or former law professors from some of the best companies, law firms and law schools in India. In fact, we hire only one out of every 900 job applicants. And again, those recruits in turn are trained and supervised by respected U.S. or U.K. attorneys.

It looks like Philippines is becoming more in demand in processing industry. Filipinos really got the skills and the knowledge, that is needed by fast growing BPO and eventually the KPO industry. No wonder,many foreign companies put offices here in the Philippines to do business here.

Really interesting that the major difference between KPO and BPO is that KPO demands a degree of analytical thinking and technical problem solving skills that are actually based on real-world experience. Nice blog.

KPO has a big future but small outsourcing companies must continue to focus efforts on corning a small segment of that market space. Otherwise it will become dominated by the big guys. KPO requires an agents with more skills and better training. This means a greater up front investment from the BPO company and will be a turn off to smaller organizations who fail to see the big picture. A viewpoint we need to change quickly.

@Ronald

Agreed and the only way the viewpoint will change is through good education and employers taking an interest in their people.

Im looking for a call center in the Philippines that does inbound order taking because I have a TV commercial and other campaigns coming up and I'm expecting a lot of calls to come in. I found this one but before I make a move I wanted to see if anyone here can refer a company to me. Thanks in advance!

I think KPO is the future. Philippines is poised to jump ahead of the legal research and accounting for American companies. So far only a handful of major companies have opened serious KPO divisions but thankfully a few smaller companies have really pushed ahead to get the industry up and running.
