Trend Watch as Philippines Outsourcing Set to Explode in 201004 Oct
With the US economy in a slump, companies are looking for new solutions to cut costs while still offering the highest level of customer service for their clients – and outsourcing is often the perfect solution. While India has been a popular outsourcing destination, the Philippines is quickly catching up, and all signs point to another dramatic rise in Philippines outsourcing in 2010.
Doubled Growth by 2010
According to estimates released by the Philippines’ administration, there could be up to 1 million Filipinos employed by foreign call centers in 2010, compared to only 400,000 at the moment. This would be a dramatic rise in BPO to the Philippines.
Industries from the pharmaceutical to the technological are taking up residence in the Philippines, lured by the high standards of the education system, the low cost of operations, and the cooperation of the government in introducing new business to its people.
More Companies Choosing the Philippines Over India
While India has definitely been the number one choice for those companies looking to outsource in the past, experts anticipate a shift towards the Philippines in the next few years. Convergys, who is the largest provider of outsourced customer service, predicts that the Philippines will surpass India in call center outsourcing. The company currently operates 12 centers in the Philippines and only eight in India.
Some of America’s most prominent companies are eyeing outsourcing to the Philippines, including the biggest American cell phone provider, broadband provider, and high-definition TV company.
The average worker in the Philippines speaks a more advanced level of English than the average worker in India, which is one of the major reasons why more companies are choosing Philippines outsourcing over India outsourcing. Couple better English skills with a deeper understanding and appreciation of American culture, and you have an excellent formula for BPO to the Philippines.
The Philippines is the new rising star of the call center world, and outsourcing to the Philippines is a trend that will only grow greater in the coming years.

Unfortunately, these are the types of requests that we get all of the time. There are outsourcing companies out there so hungry/hurting for business that they don’t even bother to research the company they are contacting to see what they do. With just a bit of research, they would have realized we’re an outsourcing company that offers the same thing!
Please be aware that contact like this is generally frowned upon by legitimate companies and TryBPO would never spam you for business…nor would our reputable competitors.

It is really an advantage that Filipinos have good command in the English language. One reason, perhaps, that more Filipinos engage themselves in outsourcing industry is it doesn’t need a particular degree to get in the position, say call center agents. And Filipinos are very competitive and flexible people; no wonder why BPO industry has found its haven and comfort in the land of the Philippines.
