Dan,

Thanks for stopping by. You're in a tough position and I feel for you. More and More work is going offshore as emerging economies develop better education systems and infrastructure. The playing field is leveling and that's good for the rest of the world, bad for entry level and mid level workers in the USA.

The best thing you could do is focus on managerial skills. As you climb the latter you will be tough to replace with an offshore equivalent.

The other option is to drop the traditional work for a company and offer your services directly on a per hour basis to the highest bidder. You will make less money (maybe even none!) in the short term, but long term you will build a more satisfying and dependable income. This is what I have done with TryBPO!

Good luck!

@Ronald

Agreed! Also culturally the Philippines is much closer to the US. Therefore it is easier for the average Philippino to relate to an American. This makes working in a team much easier. Everything from religion (Christianity) to popular sports (basketball) is more closely tied to the American culture than India.

Business process outsourcing environment in the Philippines is way much better than other countries that provide the same services. Why?

Because Filipinos are well-versed of the English language. I have dealt with other races but ours is more superior. Communications is better with us.
